What Makes Studio + Commerce Different

Consumer creative experience, applied to housing

Founder Ross Laurence brings more than 24 years of consumer and agency creative experience to the studio. That perspective shapes how we make properties legible to the people choosing where to live.

A plan before the camera rolls

Audience research and channel planning inform the shoot, rather than being left to a leasing team afterward. The deliverables are designed around how the property will use them.

Photo, film, and social under one direction

The studio works across six defined services instead of treating each asset as an isolated job. A property can carry the same story from a hero film into photography and everyday social content.

Residents are part of the story

Our resident-generated content service covers casting, editing, and releases. It gives teams a way to include real resident voices without handing the entire process to the on-site staff.

Project work you can inspect

The Verdant Grand Rapids case study reports a 17.93% organic form-fill rate for that campaign. It is a result from one project, not a promise for every property.

The Team Behind Studio + Commerce

Ross Laurence, founder

Ross founded Studio + Commerce in 2021 after working in consumer goods and fashion. A lifestyle campaign for a Florida property showed him that the content practices he used to build consumer brands were missing from multifamily, so he built a studio to bring that approach to the category.

A production team built around the brief

Clients work with creative producers, a creative director, producers, and social teams. The people and disciplines involved are matched to the assignment and its content plan.

How Studio + Commerce Works

Start with the asset and the audience

We begin with the property, its audience, and the channels the content needs to serve. A fixed-scope Discovery Sprint is available as a 3–4-week strategic starting point.

Plan and produce together

Creative producers, a creative director, producers, and social teams work with clients according to the brief. The shoot scope and schedule depend on the assignment, and a typical production takes four to six weeks.

Deliver content your team can use

We respond to client messages within two hours. When a leasing date is close, our systems let us move faster than the usual four to six weeks. Rush fees may apply, and we confirm the schedule with the scope.

Who does the studio work with?

We work with owners, operators, developers, asset managers, and portfolio marketing teams, especially in multifamily and student housing. Lifestyle brands can also commission photo, film, and social content.

Where is Studio + Commerce based?

The studio is based in Los Angeles and works on projects across the United States. Production locations and travel are set around the project scope.

Can Studio + Commerce work alongside our agency?

Yes. The studio can make content for an existing marketing or paid-media team to distribute. We also run paid media, which works best when we handle your production and social too.

What does a season of content cover?

A season is defined by the campaign, such as a lease-up, spring, or summer campaign, and by the objectives agreed in the brief. It does not automatically mean a full year of content from one production.

What does a project cost?

Social content programs start at $1,000 per month for Stabilized, $3,500 for Growth, and $5,500 for Lease-Up, with a three-month minimum. Multifamily production shoots range from $7,500 to $40,000+, depending on shoot days, crew, and deliverables, and student housing half-day shoots start at $4,500. Final pricing is based on the brief and deliverables. See the full cost comparison
